Sue Ryder is a true treasure trove, filled with every shade of vintage clothing you can imagine. If you’re looking for true blue Levis, or crushed velvet bell bottoms you shall find. Lovely old furniture is piled up, along with miles of books and vinyls. (Although like with most charity shops the vinyls are mainly questionable country song albums nobody wanted in the first place. Have a root though; you never know what you might find.)
On our trip there we found the most gorgeous dresses that pretty much sum us both up. Luka’s was a black velvet number, with a split slashed up the leg. It gave some serious “I’m a spy at a gala who will seduce you and then take your rubies” vibes. Emily, who just wants to be Hari Nef, found the best Gucci dupe ever made, a vintage, delicate blue, ruffled, floor length gown that, yes, does deserve all those adjectives.

Sadly we deemed them to be too pricey and too impractical as gorgeous as they may be. Emily emerged, however, with a lovely pair of flared, rust coloured corduroy jeans for the nifty price of eight pounds.
The staff at Sue Ryder are always lovely, and they put on fab window displays. Recently they had a Stranger Things display so if you did so desire it, you could dress like Barb, and who wouldn’t want that?
For true vintage, beautiful knick knacks and good vibes Sue Ryder is the place to be. You don’t even have to feel bad about spending all your money there (like we do). It’s a charity shop after all, so you’re really doing your service to the world. Right?
